ABOUT THE ENSEMBLE

The Mill Creek Music Company (performance ensemble) is a collection of very talented and energetic musicians. Their music blends the styles of Latin and Smooth Jazz with a splash of rhythm and blues. Combining horns and a rhythm section, they create a dynamic sound, which connects with audiences everywhere.

Kevin Hall is the "Musical Director" for the ensemble. Kevin is a jazz specialist on trumpet and has performed throughout the states. Northwest performances include Jazz Alley, Bumbershoot, and the International Association of Jazz Educators NW Jazz Festival.

MEMBERS:

AMBER NAVRAN (Alto Sax) Performs with the prestigious USC Thorton Jazz Orchestra. Member of the 2008 Washington All-State Jazz Ensemble and 2007 All-State Solo Winner on clarinet. Performances include Jazz Alley, Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, Bellevue and Mill Creek Jazz Festivals, and Carnegie Hall in New York City.

STUART MORSE (Tenor Sax) 2008 Outstanding Jazz Soloist at the Central Washington University Jazz Festival and 2007-08 Washington All-State Ensemble Winner for woodwinds. Performances include the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, Bellevue & Mill Creek Jazz Festivals. Stuart also works with younger students, teaching saxophone.

JANEL NAVRAN (Trumpet) 2008 and 2009 Washington All-State Solo & Ensemble Finalist. Performs with the Shoreline Community Wind Ensemble. Lead Trumpet for the award winning Jackson High School Jazz Ensemble. Performances include Jazz Alley, Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, Bellevue & Mill Creek Jazz Festivals, and Carnegie Hall.

STEPHANIE LEBENS (Trombone) 2009 Outstanding Soloist at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival on Euphonium and Washington State Solo Winner on euphonium. Lead trombone for the Sounders Jazz and Jackson HS Jazz Ensembles. Principal trombonist for the Everett Youth Symphony.Performances include Jazz Alley and the Mill Creek Jazz Festival.

EMILY FOWLER (Piano) Pianist for the award winning Jackson High School Jazz Ensemble and Principal Clarinetist of the Jackson Wind Ensemble. Performances include Jazz Alley, Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, Bellevue Jazz Festival & the Mill Creek Jazz Festival, and Carnegie Hall in New York City.

JAMES PROW (Bass) Bassist for the award winning Jackson High School Jazz Ensemble and a member of the wind ensemble on tuba. 2007 Washington State Solo & Ensemble Finalist. Performances include Jazz Alley, Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, Bellevue & Mill Creek Jazz Festivals, and Carnegie Hall in New York City.

BRENT GENEROUS (Guitar) Guitarist for the award winning Snohomish High School Jazz Ensemble. Member of the Snohomish High School Wind Ensemble on tuba. Performances include Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, Bellevue Jazz Festival and the Mill Creek Jazz Festival.

CHRIS COPLAND (Drums) Washington State Solo & Ensemble Finalist on percussion. Drummer for the award winning Jackson High School Jazz Ensemble. Performances include Jazz Alley, Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, Bellevue & Mill Creek Jazz Festivals, and Carnegie Hall in New York City.
